After two years of our world being completely turned upside down, we are now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with the pandemic winding down. Yet, It can feel like you’ve been benched for the last 24 months and now thrown straight into the game without warming up, right?!

Reiki is the Japanese tradition of energy healing, and it dates back to the early 20th century. Energy healing is a holistic practice that activates the body’s subtle energy systems to remove blocks. By breaking through these energetic blocks, the body’s inherent ability to heal itself is stimulated. During a Reiki treatment, the pure flow of energy is re-aligned within the body. It washes down, clearing obstructions and strengthening the flow of energy. This not only helps us feel physically better, but it allows us to feel a connection to the understanding of one’s purpose on earth and the most effective way of achieving it.

You don’t have to be spiritual to benefit from energy healing.

Just like you don't need to understand the law of gravity before you can fall down, you don't need to completely grasp the concept of energy healing before you dive into the practice. I would recommend going in with an open mind for maximum benefit.

Any time is a good time to visit an energy healer. If you are stressed, anxious, or physically drained, an energy healing session can help you relax and feel more balanced. And if you're already feeling good, it's always possible to feel a little better! It's important to note that energy healing is a complementary modality that shouldn't exclude any Western medicine you may be taking.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for our session?

No, all I need is for you to come with an open mind and be willing to accept whatever it is you may need at the current moment in time.

How long do sessions last?

I ask clients to block out 1 hour. This will allow for discussion prior and after in addition to your Reiki.

What can I expect during the session?

You will be fully clothed lying down on a massage table. Many of the hand placements are hovering over certain areas of your body and some I gently place my hands on you. You may not necessarily know which area of your body I am working on so I ask you to focus on your breathing to limit wandering thoughts that will take you away from the moment.

What do I need to know for after my session?

You need to drink plenty of water! It is important to stay hydrated, refrain from drinking alcohol or processed foods afterward, and try to incorporate some self-care routine (meditation/walking/bath). Physical and emotional feelings vary greatly between clients. Some feel light and energetic after a session while others feel fatigued and tired. Many people sleep extremely well after their session, but it is important to note some irritable feelings may surface and this is completely normal.

How many sessions are recommended?

It all depends on your current areas of concern. I typically suggest the 2nd session to follow 2-3 weeks, then on a monthly basis after that.
